It received the name “Chinese Writing Stone” because of the crystalline structure resembling Chinese writing characters. It is found in the Yangtze River Valley in China. It is said to be an excellent stone for dreaming and assisting one into a dream state. Boot Buttons are very rare today. In the late Victorian period, dark shoes were fashionable, and boots were exceedingly popular. By the 1860’s, the front and side laced boots were replaced by the popular button boot. These buttons are very rare today. Howlite comes in cauliflower-like nodules, which are dyed a variety of colors. It is naturally a white stone with either dark gray or black spider webs throughout. It is named after the mineralogist, Henry How, who found it in Nova Scotia. It is said to eliminate stress and anger. Natural pearls are harvested from the Persian Gulf, Red Sea, & Indian Ocean. Cultured pearls are considered to offer the power of love, money, protection, and luck. Blister pearls are artificially grown on the inside of the oyster shell.Swarovski are precisely cut crystals, which are related to luxury products. Daniel Swarovski, a glass cutter, established a crystal cutting factory in Austria using hydroelectricity in 1895. Shells are said to aid in creativity.
